Cambelt Replacements at Barry Hews, Barnstaple

Your car’s cambelt, otherwise known as a ‘timing belt’, synchronises the components in your engine and keeps it running smoothly. When the cambelt gets worn or broken, serious damage can be caused to components and this can result in engine failure.

Just like tyres, cambelts become worn and need replacing. To prevent the cambelt becoming worn to the point of breaking, regular checks are recommended. The guidelines differ between manufacturers, but it’s usually advisable to change the cambelt every 30,000 – 50,000 miles.

Get your Cambelt Checked

If you’re nearing your cambelt mileage limit and would like to check if your cambelt needs replacing, simply give us a call and we can arrange for one of our mechanics to take a look. They will check the tension and condition of the belt and advise you on when you can expect to need a replacement.

Although cambelts are pricey, the cost of repairing engine failure can be much more expensive, so make sure that you keep a regular check! We are able to test, supply, and fit cambelts for all makes and models.
